Heroes of Hospitality
In honor of Discover MoCo Month and National Travel and Tourism Week, Visit Montgomery is excited to celebrate Montgomery County’s Heroes of Hospitality! This program aims to recognize and celebrate the hard-working individuals and teams within Montgomery County’s hospitality and tourism industry. Industry colleagues and Visit Montgomery partners are invited to nominate an employee that has gone above and beyond during the last year.
Visit Montgomery will then select winners and present the awards during our Partnership Happy Hour on Thursday, May 4 at True Respite Brewing Company. Winners who are unable to attend the Partnership Happy Hour will be recognized the following week, during National Travel and Tourism Week.

Manager of the Year Award
This award recognizes exceptional performance by a supervisory employee to their team members, to guests, and to the community. Those eligible for nomination include any management level employee who has responsibility for a division, department, or function. Visit Montgomery will award one (1) nominee.
Heart of House Award
Nominees in this category are non-management employees that provide exemplary customer service. This includes host persons, cashiers, servers, bar porters/tenders, dishwashers, stewards, housekeepers, front desk agents, etc. Visit Montgomery will award three (3) nominees.
Community Leadership Award
This award will be given to a business and/or individual that demonstrates responsibility and responsiveness to the local community and its residents. Examples include campaigns to benefit local or national service organizations or charities, service to any part of the community through a special project, and joint undertakings with community groups for the benefit of the area. Visit Montgomery will award one (1) nominee.
Rising Star Award
This award recognizes an employee who is new to the hospitality and tourism industry and has demonstrated superior professional dedication, leadership, and a fresh perspective to their job. This individual exhibits outstanding hospitality to visitors and exhibits a team spirit while providing exceptional customer service to visitors in Montgomery County, MD. Visit Montgomery will award one (1) nominee.
