Head to Butler’s Orchard for a hayride down the Bunny Trail during the Bunnyland Festival. Then return in the fall for the Pumpkin Festival.
Take a spin on the carousel, ride the RIO Express trackless train, and paddle around the picturesque lake in a paddleboat at RIO Washingtonian.
Bring a picnic basket and spend the afternoon at Glen Echo Park. Ride a restored 1921 Dentzel Carousel, attend a show at the Adventure Theatre MTC or The Puppet Company, or get an up-close experience at the Glen Echo Aquarium.
Take a ride on a historic streetcar—out into the woods—at the National Capital Trolley Museum.
Whether it’s a daytime visit or an evening out, a round of miniature golf at Bohrer Park, Summit Hall Farm, is a great activity for the whole family!
Fall is the perfect time to spend a weekend camping at Little Bennett Campground. Reconnect with nature, tell ghost stories, and eat too many s’mores.
Take a ride across the Potomac River on the historic White’s Ferry in Poolesville. The cars line up on what looks like a boat ramp and drive down onto the ferry. Once loaded, the ferry follows a wire cable to the other side of the Potomac.
Lace up your skates and learn from the pros at Wheaton Ice Rink, or spend the day at the winter outdoor rink in Rockville Town Square.
