Happy #WomensHistoryMonth! #DYK that Montgomery County, Maryland was home to multiple historically significant women? One of those women was nurse, Civil War hero, and founder of the American Red Cross, Clara Barton. Barton lived in this house in Glen Echo, now part of the Clara Barton National Historic Site, for the last 15 years of her life. The site is the first national historic site in the US dedicated to the accomplishments of a woman. Women`s History Month is the perfect opportunity to take a guided tour of the first floor of the residence, which you can do for free Fridays-Sundays.
