SideXSide Studios roots grew out of America’s top newsrooms. Founded and staffed by journalists, SideXSide creates original & commissioned documentary content that uplifts and inspires, that shines a light into dark corners and that helps explain the most important issues of our time. Our work has even helped change federal policy.
Our films have played at top festivals across the globe. Our first feature documentary TransMilitary won 14 awards, including the Audience Award at its SXSW premiere. Co-founders Jamie Coughlin Silverman and Gabriel Silverman were named to The Independent’s 10 Filmmakers to Watch list for 2018.
SideXSide’s work has been commissioned by Fortune 500 companies including Hilton, Starbucks and P&G. We partner with top editorial outlets including The New York Times and The Washington Post. Our films have screened on Logo TV and Amazon Prime. We’ve been nominated for two Emmy Awards and a Humanitas Award, won a GLAAD Award and a SIMA Award, and have won many other awards for filmmaking, journalism, and social impact in our industry.
