Where to Eat Out with Kids and Not Lose Your Mind

Picking the perfect place to eat that will satisfy the entire family can be a difficult task which is why we rounded up the best places to eat in Montgomery County, Maryland so here’s to spending more time enjoying dinner together and less time losing your mind.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament
The only thing better than having dinner with the family is having it during a live show! At Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament* you can enjoy a four-course meal while watching a two-hour-long, family-friendly medieval jousting tournament complete with six competing knights, real weapons, and horses. This dining experience is truly unique because it feels like stepping back in time to the 11th century. Guests will feast on garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, sweet buttered corn, herb-basted potatoes, house dessert, coffee, and two rounds of non-alcoholic beverages.

Silver Diner
Experience the nostalgia of diner service at Silver Diner, including tile flooring, friendly service, and generous helpings of food. Silver Diner was created in honor of the 1940’s style diner after Ype Von Hengst visited over 400 diners across America to better understand the “timeless appeal” of these classically-styled establishments. Kids will have a blast picking out oldie classics on the jukebox situated at each booth in the restaurant and also participating in the Kids Club which offers lots of perks including a free collectible during every visit.

Though diners are known for their burgers and milkshakes, Silver Diner makes an effort to provide healthier spins on American classics. Parents will feel good that their kids are being provided nutritious meals while having fun eating out. Whether you’re a breakfast for lunch type of foodie, seafood lover, healthy food fanatic, or burger connoisseur, Silver Diner serves up iconic dishes for every type of palate.

Buca di Beppo
Feast together as a family at Buca di Beppo, an eclectic vintage style Italian restaurant that serves up vibrant traditional dishes inspired by Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. What’s special about Buca di Beppo is their family-style dishes where you can order classic Italian dishes in sizes Buca Small which feeds three or Buca Large which feeds five. You and your family will love making memories over this delicious sharable meal all while listening to iconic tunes from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Uncle Julio’s
Uncle Julio’s in Bethesda Row is the place to be if you’re craving made-from-scratch Mexican favorites such as fajitas, quesadillas, tacos, and freshly-made guacamole. The kid’s menu has many authentic offerings but also includes Chicken Tenders if your family isn’t feeling too adventurous with their pickings. End your meal on a high note by ordering their Chocolate Pinata—a smashable, hanging ball of dark chocolate that is filled with homemade churros and fresh fruit.

Ted’s Bulletin
If you’re looking for freshly made, feel-good food, then Ted’s Bulletin is the way to go for a perfect family meal. Their menu takes a modern twist on classic American dishes and has something for everyone including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and low-calorie options. After 11 am, they start serving lunch and dinner with options such as burgers, pot pies, and crab cakes—but breakfast is served all day! You can also find their classic dishes in miniature form on the kids’ menu with options like Grilled Cheese, Teriyaki Salmon, Chicken Fingers, and many healthy sides geared towards younger diners. As for dessert, Ted’s Bulletin is known for their Ted’s Tarts, a local spin on a childhood classic. They make for the cherry on top of a memorable family meal.
