As part of the City of Gaithersburg’s Theatre Arts Program Partnership, The Montgomery Playhouse in partnership with the Arts Barn, will present “The Snow Queen,” an original musical by Sharilyn C. Reynolds Ward (Music) and Laura W. Andruski (Book & Lyrics) March 13-22, 2026.This one-hour family musical tells the tale of the Snow Queen who has spirited Cai away to the North Pole. Gerda, Cai’s best friend, is determined to find him. With the help of friends she meets along the way, Gerda bravely travels vast distances and finally reaches the palace of the Snow Queen. There, she battles the wicked Queen’s snowflake army and rescues Cai. This beautiful retelling of the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale emphasizes positive relationships and the power of friendship.The show is recommended for ages 4 & up.
