Douglas Moulden – “Lost Valley”
(Rockville, MD) – Artists & Makers Studios on Parklawn Drive in Rockville is thrilled to host Douglas Moulden in the Invited Artist Gallery for the month of September. The exhibit runs from September 4th through September 25th at Artists & Makers Studios, with an opening reception on Friday, September 6th, 5 – 8pm. In “Lost Valley” Each painting is a journey that has no planned ending. Doug moves with intent and purpose towards an uncertain destination. He says he does have a plan when he starts. Mike Tyson said that everyone has a plan until they get punched in the nose. It’s difficult to have a clear destination when each aesthetic decision changes the discussion and the direction of the work. Adding a color, line or texture alters the colors, lines and textures already present in the piece. This interaction is the essence of painting. The trick is knowing when you’re finished. Enjoy additional exhibits “Fiesta” with Resident Artists – on view in the Gallery Hall, along with nineteen Gallery 209 Member Artists exhibiting their latest work.
