Wineries

Windridge Vineyards
15700 Darnestown Road, Darnestown

A farm winery with over 50 years of experience. Their wines are made from grapes grown nearby with the help of the micro-climate and terroir of the Piedmont Plateau region. The family also believes in protecting the land for future generations and minimizing their environmental footprint.

61 Vineyard
28712 Kemptown Road, Damascus

Located in Up County, the winemakers from 61 Vineyard learned a deep appreciation for wine as they toured local and international wineries. After attending wine camp and joining the Maryland Wineries Association, they were successful in creating wines on a farm worked on by four generations.

The Crossvines
16601 W. Willard Road, Poolesville, MD

This is more than a winery, it’s a gathering place. Nestled in the county’s agricultural reserve, The Crossvines is a winery, bistro, and golf course all in one. It’s also a research farm with its own custom grape-crushing facility. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway.

Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard
18125 Comus Road, Poolesville, MD

A winery with a rural view. Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard is located at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain. Go on a free wine tour, try a flight of four wines or their whole wine selection. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the grassy areas or order food from the changing food trucks every weekend.

Olney Winery
52 Olney Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD

Olney Winery ferments grapes from around the world to make their award-winning wines. Try a flight of wine at their urban tasting room. You can even get a chance to incorporate these grapes into your very own wine.

The Urban Winery
2315 Stewart Avenue, Silver Spring, MD

The Urban Winery is Maryland’s first urban wine experience. The winery offers wine tastings as well as wine classes to learn what you’re drinking. There’s also a wine making experience taught by the winemaker at The Urban Winery. Other than tasting and tours, another fun experience are events at the winery where you practice yoga and sip or decorate goodies and savor a glass.

Rocklands Farm Winery
14531 Montevideo Road, Poolesville, MD

A farm winery in Poolesville that makes low-intervention, handcrafted wines. Everything they grow and bottle is done with a purpose. While making wine, they use natural yeasts from their winery and vineyard.

Mead

Clear Skies Meadery
325 Main Street, Gaithersburg, MD

Try the oldest type of alcohol from Clear Skies Meadery. Mead is brewed with raw, unfiltered honey. Everything is made and packaged in-house in Gaithersburg. Makers at Clear Skies keep the mead at its most refreshing peak and boldest color by not filtering.
