An Insider’s Guide to Montgomery County’s Beer Yurt Experience

With cooler weather on the horizon, wineries and breweries along the Tastemakers Trail have gotten creative and taken their outdoor experiences to a whole new level.

Waredaca Brewing Company – in Montgomery County, Maryland’s 93,000-acre Agricultural Reserve – offers an unforgettable beer yurt experience during the fall and winter seasons. Each yurt features a lounge-style experience including cozy couches and chairs. Festive fall décor and straw bales complete the look.

The interior features a cozy couch, chairs, and blanket-covered straw bales that seat up to 10 people. Small LED lights, pumpkins, fall garlands, and lanterns add to the cozy feel. While there is a food truck available to order a nosh, Waredaca also allows people to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.

All beers include something grown/produced on the farm and their production schedule is timed to align with harvest time. You and your guests can order through Waredaca’s mobile ordering service or with traditional bar service in their Tap Room — there is no table service provided to the yurts.

Reservations are available in two-hour blocks on Thursday and Friday for $95 and weekends for $115. A fire pit managed by the Waredaca crew is available for an additional $30, or opt for the fire pit + s’mores kit combo for an additional $40. There is a 10% processing fee for each reservation. Rent a yurt here.

Lone Oak Brewing Company– Escape the ordinary and step into the cozy enclave of Lone Oak Brewing Company’s beer yurts. These intimate havens offer a unique twist on the craft beer experience.

Try locally brewed brews, warm up with a heater in the yurts, and savor the moments with your friends in the Agriculture Reserve. They also have a fire pit area with a solo fire pit.

Reservations for the Lone Oak Grove Tent are rented for one hour and 45 minutes with an allowance of 15 minutes for cleaning. Each tent and fire pit includes a private Lone Oak server. While outside food is allowed, outside alcohol is not allowed. Coolers are also not permitted on the property or inside tents. Rent a tent here.

Hip Flask Rooftop Bar Hip Flask is the only penthouse-level rooftop bar in Bethesda. It’s located at the Marriott Bethesda Downtown property. The bar provides both indoor and outdoor seating, but one addition for the cooler months is their igloo.

For reservations, guests can book their igloo online. There is no cost to reserve the igloo. Reserve the igloo here.

As the sun sets and the stars appear in the evening sky, the entire property glows with twinkle lights, making the time you spent at breweries on the Tastemakers Trail even more memorable.
