Sandy Spring has an important history to share with you – from stories of agricultural innovation, women’s suffrage, and progressive education to one of the largest land-owning African American communities in Maryland. The permanent exhibit illustrates local history through photographs, documents and objects that were collected from the families of the neighborhood’s earliest residents.
Explore how early settlers built a community, adapted to changing times, and built institutions that impacted the entire state of Maryland.
