Prakriti Dance is an innovative performing company that showcases the Indian performing traditions. Co-founded by Kasi Aysola and Madhvi Venkatesh, Prakriti Dance takes the movement vocabulary of India and interprets modern stories and issues to bring relevance and context to the ever-evolving Indian art. Drawing inspirations from nature, philosophy, poetry, and other genres of art, Prakriti weaves a multi-layered tapestry to transcend cultural boundaries and communicate the human experience.
Through Fish Eyes is a unique performance utilizing dynamic classical Indian dance styles to spark interest in what lies beneath the ocean’s surface. Prakriti Dance shares the wonders of marine life through the language of dance and illuminates the ways in which humans are affecting the world’s oceans. Audiences will be inspired by the beauty of nature and empowered to make small changes to help the environment.
