Join us on Sunday, September 14th for the Takoma Park Farmers Market Annual Pie Contest. A favorite day to celebrate the flavors of the season and raise money for a great cause.
Bakers are invited to enter their best pie(s) using seasonal ingredients available at the market. Pies will be judged by celebrity judges and prizes will be awarded. At the conclusion of the contest, all pies will sliced and offered to the public for a donation. All donations received will go to the Takoma Park Farmers Market SNAP Match Program. Join us and bake for a great cause, and if you don’t bake – plan to come eat!
To Enter:
Enter your best pie using any seasonal ingredient found at the market – sweet or savory! See prize categories below.
Pies should be entered whole and will be sliced by event volunteers.
Event volunteers are unable to garnish or add to the pie in any way for judging.
Pies should be labeled with baker’s name and pie type. Please be sure to label with any known allergens or hidden ingredients.
Pie dish should also be labeled with baker’s name. All pie dishes will be available for pick up at the conclusion of the event. If they are not picked up then, the Takoma Park Famers Market does not accept responsibility.
Not a baker?
We need you too! At the conclusion of the contest, all of the delicious pies are sliced and offered to the public for a donation – $4 per slice, suggested donation. There will be hundreds of slices available! Try one or many! All donations received go to the Takoma Park Farmers Market Federal Benefit Match Program to increase benefits used at the market.
