LIGO, Virgo, and KAGRA are the world’s leading gravitational-wave observatories, and are observing dozens of mergers of black holes and neutron stars. The Gravitational Wave Open Science Center (GWOSC) hosts publicly available data and catalogs from the observatories, along with tutorials, web apps, and other resources to get started in this new and exciting field. This talk will give an overview of these resources and an introduction working with gravitational-wave data.
Dr. Jonah Kanner was a student at University of Maryland, College Park for 12 years where he studied math and physics. He is currently a staff scientist with LIGO Laboratory at Caltech, where he is the director of the Gravitational Wave Open Science Center.
