Main Street's Neighborhood Safety Day!

Main Street Connect and the Rockville City Police are partnering to host a Neighborhood Safety Day on Saturday, June 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm!
Monroe Place will be closed and filled with fun and educational opportunities. Engage in interactive activities with first responders, watch safety demonstrations, learn about health and safety resources, connect with friends and make some new ones! The event will include:
- Mock traffic stops
- Police dog demonstrations
- Pedestrian safety walks
- Bike safety demonstrations
- Music with DJ Matt
- Food for purchase from Soulfull Cafe and food trucks
Participants who visit many of the exhibitors can visit the Main Street table to get a small prize – and have their name entered into a raffle for a larger prize!
This event is free and open to all. We hope to see you there!
DETAILS FOR PARTICIPANTS
- Weather:Â Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. In the event of heavy rain, we will move the event inside and onto the covered driveway. So please come whether we have rain or shine!
- Water:Â Bring a water bottle. Water fountains and a water bottle refill station are located inside the Main Street building.
- Check In:Â Be sure to check in when you arrive and get your event “passport”.
- Prizes and Raffle: Get a stamp from each table you visit. After filling your passport with stamps, stop by the Main Street table to get a small prize – and to enter you name in a raffle for a larger prizes. Raffle prizes include a gift card to Wegmans and a video game gift basket!
- Restrooms:Â Soulfull Cafe has a single restroom. The Main Street building has restrooms with multiple stalls.

GETTING THERE
Monroe Place will blocked off for this event, so the parking garage at 51 Monroe Place will not be accessible. Here are other options:Â
- Public transportation: Main Street is 500 feet from the Rockville Metro and bus station. There is a pedestrian overpass over Rockville Pike. Metered street parking.
- Parking garages:
- – 255 Rockville Pike ParkX – Accessible from Monroe Street where it intersects with E. Montgomery Ave. Pay to park. Opens at 10:00 am on Saturdays.
- – Ansel ParkX at 33 Monroe Street – Pay to park. Open 24/7.
- – Montgomery County Council Office Building Garage – Enter from the corner of E. Jefferson Street (Rt. 28) and Monroe Street. Free to park on weekends.
- Drop Off Points: There are two options for dropping people off:

- – On northbound Monroe Street, use the right turn lane at the intersection with Monroe Place. (Monroe Place will be closed at 9:00 am so the right turn lane will not be in use for through traffic.)
- – The circle in front of the Montgomery County Circuit Court at the intersection of Monroe Street and Monroe Place.
