2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department! Celebrate the centennial of this essential community organization at this engaging talk by SSVFD members George Smith and William John (Bill) Thomas IV who have been tirelessly working on a historic research and documentation project for the SSVFD. They will provide history and anecdotes of this major part of our Sandy Spring community!

SSVFD also invites you to start the celebration early at a large community celebration at the Old Montgomery General Hospital Grounds featuring a parade and display of fire apparatus and other memorabilia on Saturday, Sept 21st at 1:00PM.
