Evil Does Not Exist (Aku wa Sonzai Shinai) explores traditional life and the consequences of change. Played by non-professional actors, residents of the mountain village Mizubiki, including a single father, reel when they learn of a proposal to develop a glamping site. The developers’ intentions endanger both the delicate water system and the villagers’ way of life.
