About the “ETHOS” Exhibition by Vian Borchert:
In Ethos, Borchert who is a noted visual artist unveils a number of new art pieces in an exhibition that represents her creative and artistic characteristic as well as her art spirit. The new paintings which portray abstracted landscapes / seascapes bring forth the artist’s aspirations cementing a vision that is rooted in the importance of nature.
Through Borchert’s long career as an established artist, an art educator and curator, Borchert via her art and writing has captured the essence of our prevailing times in her abstracted work. Borchert’s work calls upon a careful look and an emphasis on the love for nature and the environment along with ways to protect and celebrate our ecology through a sustainable lifestyle that encourages ethos to our surroundings and community. Therefore, the artwork stresses upon the importance of kindness within our human connection and that as a collective we can make the world a better place.
Borchert states, “For me, my paintings are not just artwork, they are an experience and a dialogue between one’s humanity, the art of painting and nature which continuously amazes and inspires me to be the artist that I am.” Elements within the works bring together land, sea and sky by which they all come together to create a sense of flow and unity to the landscapes. Hence, Borchert’s love for our environment and ecosystem is reflected in her vision and projected to the world with these latest works.
