Join us for an exciting afternoon of hands-on STEM learning and exploration for all ages. This month’s event will focus on the Maker Movement. Come discover how local makers and high school students are taking their ideas and making them a reality through tools and equipment at the Rockville Makerspace and other organizations in the area. Registration is not required but will help us with planning. The event is free and open to all! Feel free to drop in anytime between 1:00 – 4:00 PM to visit with exhibitors from around the region including:
University of Maryland Small Artifacts Lab: Learn about 3D printing and current research on personal fabrication, circuit making, and 3D printing
Dr. Jim Rudert, local maker: Dr. Rudert will be demonstrating several of the STEM exhibits he has developed over the years including his Energy (Bi)cycle, Can Crusher, Earthquake Simulator, and Chinese Windlass
Tom Bentz, Tumbling Run Design, local maker: Learn about laser cutting and check out a variety of laser cut objects, art, and crafts
Potomac Community 4H Club: Explore the exciting world of robotics and electronics
Whitman High School “The Body Electric” Robotics Team: Students will demonstrate the robot that they built for FIRST Robotics Challenge competition and share information about robotics.
