Michele, a teacher at a school in Rome, is dissatisfied with his life in the big city. He decides to turn his life around by moving to a small town in the heart of the Abruzzo national park.
The rural community is idyllic, but the dwindling population has created problems, especially for the local school where Michele plans to teach. Michele believes that, with some clever tactics and the commitment of other teachers, the school can be saved, thus becoming a symbol of hope for the future of the small municipalities in the mountain areas.
A World Apart runs 1 hour and 52 minutes. Dialogue is in Italian with English subtitles.
