2026 MLK Day of Service
Additional Dates
The Montgomery County Volunteer Center invites residents to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in the annual MLK Day of Service, sponsored by AmeriCorps, on Monday, January 19, 2026.
At the County’s largest annual volunteer event, residents of all ages gather in the spirit of Dr. King to engage in service projects that directly benefit the local community.
This year’s theme is inspired by Dr. King’s famous quote: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are You doing for others?’” It serves as a call to action for residents to look beyond themselves and address the critical needs of their community.
The featured event will be held at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Rockville. This large-scale gathering will include a Volunteer Fair and several family-friendly service projects.
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students can earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours for participating in approved projects.
