Join VisArts’ 2025 Art + Social Justice Fellow Aisha Nailah White for an open studio and workshop focused on creatively supporting the causes you care about, offered in connection with her exhibition, Help Me, Help You, Help Us (Common Ground Gallery, March 21-May 11, 2025).
In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to screen print, design banners, and create swag for social movements. Participants will gain hands-on experience by helping to screen print tote bags for the DMV Introductory Organizing Training program, Rising Organizers, actively contributing to the movement while learning valuable creative skills.
White’s practice is dedicated to helping individuals and communities break free from paralysis and complacency to engage in meaningful action. “To do this, you must embrace what some call delusions, but I prefer to call possibilities.” This project aims to help everyone discover their unique role in the movement.
