The DC Chamber Musicians return to the Calvary Lutheran Church to present our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, featuring works by Black composers. This is a reschedule of our January 19 date which was postponed due to snow and ice. Foul winter weather will not keep us from honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., especially during Black History Month. The concert includes the premiere of a lovely string quartet by a young musician member of DCCM. On the program
Frederick C. Tillis Spiritual Fantasy No. 24
Alvin Singleton Fifty Times Around the Sun
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Five Negro Melodies for Piano Trio, Op. 59
Kyle Simmons String Quartet in D minor (premiere)
On-line ticket sales end at 11:00 am on concert day. Tickets are available at the door. We accept, cash, credit cards and a variety of electronic payment methods.
