I’m done. I wait. I’m stuck. I start. I start again.
I feel like I’m running out of time and going way too fast.
How does a body tell time? What are we noticing when we notice the passage of time? What are we feeling when we feel the passage of time? How do we know when it’s time to change?
A candle slowly melting down, the tick of the clock, a fallen leaf, the sunset that will always always come – we’re immersed in the overlapping and sometimes contradicting tempos of body time, machine time, industrial time and ecological time. As You Need combines poetic text, sculptural wax and the ticking of metronomes to invite you into a space of layered rhythms, suspended time and colliding desires.
“Without time there is no life.” – Alan Lightman, “Einstein’s Dreams”
