First known as the Montgomery Aquatic Center when it opened in 1989, the facility was dedicated on October 23, 2011 as the Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center. Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver Aquatic Center (KSAC) is conveniently located in North Bethesda near the White Flint Metro station and the I-270 corridor.

Although classes and programs are scheduled throughout the week, times are also set aside for recreational and lap swimming. Classes include diving, fitness, swimming and water safety, and competitive opportunities are available for a reasonable fee through a swim team, dive team, masters swimming and scuba.

The Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center is accessible with ramps, elevators, ladders and lifts.
