Some of the DMV’s favorite food trucks head to Wheaton this month to dish out the region’s tastiest treats at the Trucktoberfest food truck and craft beer festival.
Every Weekend throughout October | Butler’s Orchard
The annual Pumpkin Festival is held weekends throughout October, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pick a pumpkin; take a hayride; explore a hay maze; and enjoy crafts, food, and family activities.

Montgomery County facility hosts one of the largest harvest festivals in the area. Enjoy some “horse-powered” fun on the farm with old-time crafts, activities, music and food! Activities include hayrides, scarecrow making, farm demonstrations and a hay maze.
Sunday, October 11, 2015 @ 12 – 5 pm | Kentlands Market Square
The City of Gaithersburg and the Kentlands Citizens Assembly sponsor this family friendly Oktoberfest featuring Bavarian music, dance, food, crafts, pony rides, moon bounces, pumpkin decorating, face painting and more. Enjoy wine-tasting featuring local Maryland vineyards and retailers, a traditional Beer Garden, food vendors and the ever-popular performances of the Alte Kameraden German Band and Alt-Washingtonia Bavarian Dancers will grace Old Farm, the grounds around the Arts Barn and Kentlands Mansion.

Lovers of fine crafts and art will find more than 200 top artisans displaying and selling their unique creations in pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, home décor, furniture and home accessories, items for the garden, and photography.

Join us as the grounds of Glenview Mansion transform when more than 550 antique and classic automobiles go on display. From Packard to Ferrari, 31 car clubs are represented during this grand event while auto collectors and enthusiasts share the fond memories of the classic cars of yesteryear.
October 17-18, 2015 @ 11 am – 6 pm | Bethesda Row
More than 180 artists display a wide variety of artwork and crafts. The family friendly event also includes some of the area’s best street performers, musical acts, food and dining plus hands-on children’s art activities.

The World of Montgomery Festival celebrates the diverse cultural heritages which play an active role in the lives of Montgomery County residents and communities. The festival showcases this rich diversity through food, music, dance, traditional arts and hands-on projects for children and families.
Saturday, October 24, 2015 @ 9:30 pm | Downtown Silver Spring
Dress up as a zombie and walk in the zombie parade, or you can be a spectator and watch the zombies lurch by. The walk is free and ends at AFI Silver Theatre. You can also purchase tickets to watch a screening of Day of the Dead. Walk departs at 9:00 p.m. from the corner of Georgia Ave. and Bonifant St. The event concludes at the AFI Silver Theatre, 8633 Colesville Rd., for a special screening of a spooky film.

The reverberating drums of the marching bands herald the coming of the Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade even before you catch site of the first giant inflatable turkey. The line-up of over 100 parade units features an inflatable penguin and turkey, a massive dinosaur, a portable skating rink, and more colorful dancing groups than you have ever seen.
