Sadly, Summer is coming to an end. Find free outdoor concerts for family entertainment throughout the month in various destinations around Silver Spring, Rockville, Bethesda and Gaithersburg. Most outdoor concerts will end the last week in August.

Celebrate International Beer Day!

International Beer Day is a celebration on the first Friday of every August (August 5, 2016). Gather with friends and enjoy a tall cold beer! Visit our local breweries.

Montgomery County Agricultural Fair

It’s back! Since 1949 the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, the largest county fair in the State of Maryland, has been a showcase of farm life in Montgomery County. This week-long county fair is a family event with carnival rides, live animals, a variety of entertainment, food and fun activities for all ages. Date: August 12-20, 2016.

Bethesda Restaurant Week

Bethesda-Montgomery County Restaurant Week offers prix fixe lunch for $16 and three-course dinner menus for $36 at dozens of restaurants in Montgomery County, Maryland. Most of the participating restaurants are located in Bethesda, Rockville, Potomac and Silver Spring. Restrictions may apply. Cuisines include American, French, Greek, Indian, Italian, and more. Please call individual restaurants for restrictions, menu options, and reservations. Restaurant Week starts August 12-21, 2016.

Shop Tax-Free Week

The second Sunday of August to the following Saturday is designated as Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week each year. That means qualifying apparel and footwear $100 or less, per item, are exempt from the state sales tax. Accessory items are not included. The Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week for 2016 is Sunday, August 14 – Saturday, August 20.

Comcast Film Festival


Take a seat on the lawn for three nights of free flicks benefiting the National Institutes of Health Children’s Charities. Festivities will take place on Saturday, August 20 – Monday, August 22, 2016 and will start at 6:30pm, films start at 8:30pm. Blankets, low-rise chairs, and small coolers welcome outside only. No pets, please. Location: Gudelsky Gazebo at Strathmore.

I Love Bachata Festival

The I love Bachata Festival will highlight Tropical and Latin Culture, including Art, Music, Folkloric Dance, Cuisine and much more while bringing all Latin cultures together.  Don’t miss the fun. This event will be held at Veterans Plaza in Downtown Silver Spring on Sunday, August 28.
