The Resolution Rendezvous

Join EarthTreks Rockville every first Friday of the month for fun, games, climbing, beer, camaraderie and video screenings! It is a great way to hang out with climbing partners, new friends, and climbing organizations from around the area. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun! Visit Sandy Spring Museum’s ten resident artist studios and see them at work! Artists specialize in clay, fiber, metal and enamel. Learn about upcoming classes, purchase original works, or have something made on commission. January’s featured artist is EunJu Lee, a silversmith who creates sculptural jewelry and small wall hangings. She focuses on small details in the delicate creation of her works. Learn More

Open Mic Night

Republic in Takoma Park is hosting an Open Mic Night every Sunday in January starting at 9 pm – featuring the Juels Bland. Sign-up starts at 8:30 pm. Each block is two songs or ten minutes. Montgomery County History Conference

Since 2007, the Montgomery County History Conference has been a venue for people of all ages and backgrounds—civic leaders, students, museum professionals and volunteers, history buffs, genealogists, and the public—to explore and celebrate the many facets of our past that shape our community to this day. Hosted annually by Montgomery History, this day-long gathering includes workshops, presentations, and panel discussions covering a wide range of topics within the realm of local history.

The 2018 History Conference will be held on Saturday, January 27 at the Bioscience Education Center on Montgomery College’s Germantown Campus. Registration ranges between $10 (students) – $60 (general public). Learn More
