Everybody loves a funky Arts Parade
You can even be in it! Make some art and join us. On this day, everyone can be an artist. Just push, pull, carry, wear, or perform your art! If you can’t walk in the parade, find a spot along the parade route to cheer the bands, dance groups, artists, and large floats as they parade around the Wheaton triangle to the Marian Fryer Town Plaza at 2424 Reedie Drive, Wheaton, MD 20902.
The parade starts at 10am. Don’t miss it or you’ll have to wait until next year to see this unique event in the DC area.
It’s a festival of visual art
The festival area opens at 10am with more than 40 booths of exhibits — artists displaying and selling their original work; community organizations and county agencies with art making and giveaways in their booths and FREE childrens’ art fun in the Kids’ Zone, including face painting and balloon art.
With 3 stages of non-stop Entertainment
The afternoon features MoCo’s top talent, including Strathmore artists, dance companies and bands. It’s the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month, so there will be lots of Latin music and dance, but you also will hear some great Irish music, hip hop and good old rock and roll from groups like The Nighthawks.
And Food that put Wheaton on the map!
