The Washington Folk Festival returns to Glen Echo Park, August 23, 12pm to 7pm. Now a one-day event, expect a jam-packed roster full of music, dancing, and storytelling ranging from American to International styles. You’ll hear bluegrass, Celtic, Americana, blues, and Zydeco, as well as folk music from around the world, including a special Middle Eastern track this year. Six stages, including hundreds of performers and a revival of the dedicated family-focused, kid-friendly area; food trucks (twice as many as last year!); picnic tables—and it’s all free! Donations gratefully accepted. Please note that parking is on-site and limited, so car-pooling is highly recommended. Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD 20812. This festival is free because everyone from staff to performers is a volunteer. To volunteer, sign up here: https://wff.fsgw2.org/wff/volunteerform.php
