As part of its monthly film series, Cinema Art Bethesda is pleased to present a 2023 film directed by first-time Italian director Paola Cortellesi. Tickets sold at the door. Free bagels, coffee, and tea. Discussion to follow.
In 1945 Rome, Allied soldiers patrol the streets. Delia is in an abusive marriage and wants to break out of traditional family patterns. The mysterious arrival of a series of notes makes Delia believe that there is a way to escape her plight. In the final minutes, the filmmaker makes all the seemingly mismatched pieces click together in a way that is completely unexpected and entirely satisfying. As one reviewer states, There’s Still Tomorrow is a “feel-everything movie [that] magically spans many genres with ease.”
There’s Still Tomorrow runs 1 hour and 58 minutes. Dialogue is in Italian with English subtitles.
