A Shared Celebration: Taiwan Night Concert 2026 Honors America’s 250th

“An evening of music highlighting cultural exchange between Taiwan and the United States”

The community is invited to an inspiring afternoon of music and cultural celebration at the Taiwan Night Concert 2026, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. This special event will take place on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center at Montgomery College Rockville campus.

Bringing together outstanding Taiwanese and U.S.-based musicians, the concert celebrates decades of artistic exchange between Taiwan and the United States through a dynamic and diverse program. Audiences will experience a rich blend of classical masterworks, Taiwanese folk music, American jazz ballad and contemporary compositions that reflect shared values of creativity, resilience, and cultural dialogue.

“This concert is more than a performance—it is a tribute to the enduring friendship between Taiwan and the United States,” said Music Director Huai-En Tsai. “Through music, we honor a long history of collaboration and look forward to continued cultural connection for generations to come.”

Featured artists include internationally recognized performers and educators: pianist Jenny Lin and Hsiao-Ying Lin, flautist Peisan Chiu and Marcia McHugh, violist Karin Brown, violinist Shu-Ting Yao and harpist Jaqueline Pollauf, presenting works that span centuries and styles. The program highlights both traditional repertoire and newly inspired works that embody the spirit of cross-cultural exchange.

The Taiwan Night Concert began over four decades ago as a small gathering celebrating Taiwanese folk traditions and has since grown into a highly anticipated annual event in the greater Washington, D.C. area. Today, it stands as a vibrant platform for cultural diplomacy and artistic excellence.
