This month’s topic: Spies, traitors, commanders, and diplomats all have secrets to communicate. Protecting those secrets during the American Revolution depended on tried-and-true methods and some innovative techniques.  From Paul Revere to George Washington, from Benedict Arnold to General Cornwallis, each used a variety of codes, ciphers, and hidden messages to communicate.  Learn how these messages worked and played a role in America’s war for independence.
Our speaker: Jennifer Wilcox has been the Director of Education at the National Security Agency’s National Cryptologic Museum since 1999. For 25 years at the museum, a primary function of Ms. Wilcox’s work has been in creating and presenting a wide variety of educational programs for students visiting the museum as well as presenting briefings to adult audiences. Jennifer earned her B.A. in Telecommunication from Michigan State University.
