PRJC Free Zoom Jazz Talk: Early Jazz Trombone featuring Gunhild Carling
Monday Dec 9th 7:00-8:15pm Eastern
One of the hottest (in every way) acts in jazz today is Gunhild Carling – a Swedish player now based in San Francisco when she’s not busy touring all over the US and Europe. High energy Gunhild leads a talented family of musicians. She plays multiple instruments including a jazzy bagpipe, sings, and tap dances. And winds up her show playing three trumpets at the same time. Our wily producer got Gunhild to sit still for the upcoming Zoom Jazz Talk sponsored by the Potomac River Jazz Club to take us on a journey through the history of jazz trombone including playing some examples of songs for which some of the music’s early “bone” players are famous.
Come along for a perfectly Gunhild evening on Monday December 9th, 7 pm EASTERN TIME. You must register by 5pm the day of the talk — you will get a link to it shortly before it begins. As always, the series of PRJC Zoom jazz talks are free but we do appreciate your donation to help PRJC offset the cost of the program, made at the time of registration.
