The 6th Annual Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair is back!

The 6th Annual Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair will take place on August 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Rockville Town Center, welcoming the public to a FREE, family-friendly event celebrating youth entrepreneurship and innovation.

Hosted at Rockville Town Square, the fair will feature more than 50 young entrepreneurs, each launching their own small business for a day. Children will sell original products and services directly to customers while gaining real-world experience in entrepreneurship, leadership, and communication.

What Participants Will Do

At this one-day marketplace, participants will:

• Create a product or service
• Develop a brand and pricing strategy
• Market their business to customers
• Set up and manage their booth independently
• Pitch their ideas to judges and the public

Participants are solely responsible for booth setup, sales, and customer interaction.

The goal of the fair is to provide children with authentic, hands-on business experience while helping them build confidence, independence, and entrepreneurial skills.

Competition & Awards

A panel of judges, including representatives from the local business community, will evaluate each participant’s business. During the fair, young entrepreneurs will compete for cash awards in the following categories:

• Most Innovative Idea
• Best Presentation
• Best Sales Pitch

Founded by Tameka Montgomery, former Obama appointee and senior executive at the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair is designed to empower youth through entrepreneurship, creativity, and leadership.

The fair provides a platform for children to explore business ownership while learning responsibility, resilience, and innovation in a supportive community environment.
