At the King Barn Dairy MOOseum, step inside a restored 1930s dairy barn to learn about the county’s agricultural past through interactive exhibits, historic tools, and family-friendly, hands-on activities that bring local farming history to life.
Exhibits include historic dairy equipment such as cream separators, milk churns, bottles, and bottling tools, along with interpretive displays explaining how local farms operated day-to-day. Experience interactive stations, including a replica “milking cow,” that demonstrate what dairy work was like in a simple, engaging, hands-on way. Photographs, oral histories, and farm artifacts help connect these tools to the families and communities that once ran Montgomery County’s dairy industry.
Heritage Days Highlights & Activities:
Hands-on Displays: Exhibits detailing dairy farming and technology, including a 1919 Ford Model T milk delivery truck, wooden milk wagons, and interactive maps of the region’s dairy industry.
Family Fun: Kids can “milk” model cows, play in the children’s playroom, and enjoy balloon animals.
Special Guests: Live farm animals and a visiting Balloon Man are typically on-site.
