A little bit about Melissa and the Moth Men: Melissa and the Moth Men is a classic country dance band from Harpers Ferry, WV who perform high-energy two-step, line dance, and square dance music. The band features lead singer Melissa Wright and the Moth Men — who are a revolving cast of the area’s finest fiddlers, guitarists, pedal steel players, doghouse bass players, and drummers. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Melissa has performed all over the USA at venues like The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, and NPR’s Mountain Stage. Melissa is an acclaimed music teacher and owner of Big Universe Music and performs original songs in her band Minks Miracle Medicine. Her love of classic country artists like Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, George Jones, and Loretta Lynn, inspired her to start the Moth Men, who bring high energy classic dance music to enthusiastic audiences across the DC Metro and Eastern Panhandle of WV.
