The Sweet Lemon is a locally-owned and operated specialty gift store that aims to serve the Town of Poolesville and surrounding communities with unique, quality goods, cheerful customer service, and a joyful atmosphere.

Katie Horan (that’s me!), along with my husband and business partner, PJ Horan, have been Poolesville residents along with our three children Johnny, Christopher, and Hallie since 2014. I began my teaching career at Poolesville High School in 2005 as an English Teacher and later Staff Development teacher.  After 17 glorious years at PHS, I decided to focus solely on The Sweet Lemon where we continue to grow and be a part of the fabric of this wonderful town.

Inspired to provide a variety of gifts and home goods conveniently to Poolesville residents and surrounding communities, we started The Sweet Lemon to serve our town with something we felt we were missing–a local spot for a great gift that we don’t have to leave town to buy.
