The lock, lockhouse and the ruins of Jarboe’s store are set next to the Edwards Ferry Boat Ramp, which looks across the river to Virginia. The lockhouse is conveniently located 4.5 miles from the town of Poolesville, MD, providing access to groceries and supplies, as well as additional historical discoveries!
Lockhouse 25 is considered a “rustic” property, does not have electricity or heat, and sleeps eight people. There is an outdoor portable toilet provided. It features an outdoor fire ring and adjacent picnic table. Water is available at the nearby Chisel Branch Hiker-Biker Campsite from Apr 15 – Nov 15.
