Welcome to People’s Book! I’m Megan, a mom of two young children and former educator. My family moved to our forever home in Takoma Park in 2020 and started exploring ways to connect with our neighbors. If you knew me in my teaching days, you’d know that I’ve always had a passion for finding the right book, for the right kid, at the right time. For years I’ve dreamed of opening my own bookstore and I’m excited to create and nurture a welcoming space for neighbors to come together to learn and grow. My years of experience in education have given me a vast knowledge of literature and I am excited to curate a diverse selection of books for my community. I look forward to meeting you and helping you discover your next great read.

P.S. If you notice an unusually large number of Eric Carle books in our store, know we have a special place in our hearts for his beautiful illustrations. His namesake Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts (my hometown), is where my husband, Matthew, and I tied the knot!
