About the Exhibition:
The exhibition celebrates the Spring season with all its beauty and especially the Cherry Blossom trees the DMV area is known for. Borchert states that the “artwork represent a conceptual motif to explore ideas of renewal, growth, the beauty of fleeting moments as well as the transient nature of life. The works are deeply tied to symbolism of spring, new beginnings, and impermanence. Much like the fleeting blooms, I aim through my work to represent the fragility of life and the constant cycle of change. The paintings also express a sense of serenity and hope while evoking the idea of embracing the present and acknowledging life’s cyclical nature reinforcing the appreciation of the beauty around us before it fades. I aim through my abstracted landscapes to evoke a call to pause and focusing on nature’s ephemeral beauty and our place within it. Hence, I aspire through my paintings to bring attention to the beauty and delicate moments that exist in life, encouraging reflection and mindfulness.”
