Documentary film covering 1960 protests resulting in the desegregation of the Glen Echo Amusement Park.
In 1960, five black students from Howard University sat on a carousel at the Glen Echo Amusement Park and were arrested. Protests ensued in the community. Picketers included members of the Freedom Riders and was the first organized interracial civil rights protest in the United States. This activism eventually led to the desegregation of the Glen Echo Amusement Park. The results of this activism are documented in this poignant film.
