On January 19, the DC Chamber Musicians will return to the Calvary Lutheran Church (9545 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring) to present our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. This concert willl feature works by Black composers, including the premiere of a lovely string quartet by Kyle Simmons, a violinist and member of the DC Chamber Musicians. The concert will also include pieces by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Alvin Singleton, and Frederick C. Tillis. The concert will begin promptly at 3:00 pm and end around 4:30 pm. Tickets can be purchase on-line (https://dccos.org/performances) or at the door. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults, $7.50 for students and senior citizens, and free for children under 13. Please join us for an afternoon of wonderful and interesting music in a congenial setting.
