World of Montgomery Festival

Weekend Events: October 13 – 15

This Friday marks October 13 – that’s right, Friday the 13th. If you’re a little superstitious and plan on staying at home to avoid any blackcats and other potential signs of bad luck, don’t worry. This Saturday and Sunday, we have plenty of events and activities in Montgomery County for you to make up for one lost day of the weekend.

Scary Film & Brew Party


For those of you who aren’t afraid to go out on Friday the 13th, head over to the Arts Barn in Gaithersburg for a showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 horror classic, the Birds. There will also be seasonal brews available to enjoy. Doors and bar open at 6:30 p.m. and the move will start at 7:30 p.m. Buy tickets ($5) online now.

Bethesda Row Arts Festival

The Bethesda Row Arts Festival is recognized as one of the top fine arts festivals in the United States. For two days, the streets of downtown Bethesda are transformed into an outdoor gallery of arts and crafts. Over 190 selected artists will showcase their works of all different types, including: ceramics, drawings, fabrics, glass, graphics, jewelry, metalwork, paintings, pastels, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood, and 2D and 3D mixed media. The event will be held rain or shine.

The Great Pumpkin Race & Fall Festival


The Great Pumpkin Race is a unique side-by-side, single-elimination race featuring handcrafted, decorated pumpkin race cars competing for the Pumpkin Race Championship Trophy. What’s a pumpkin race car you ask? Just like it sounds – a custom-decorated pumpkin with wheels on it! The race will be capped off with a fall festival, including live music, great food, and plenty of children’s activities.

Pike District Fall Fest

Come out to the second annual Pike District Fall Fest, an outdoor festival celebrating the local restaurants and businesses in the Pike District. There will be a live DJ, sweet treats, craft beer, wine, food trucks, a moonbounce, face painting, cornhole, bocce and prizes. The event will feature beer by 7 Locks Brewing, wine by Hop N Grape, food from Ize’s Deli & Bagelry, Summer House and Stella Barra Pizzeria and a food truck lineup.

World of Montgomery


The World of Montgomery Festival celebrates and displays the rich cultural heritages of the Montgomery County and Greater D.C. Area. The free annual festival includes an international village, traditional arts and crafts demonstrations, ethnic food, a Parade of Cultures, two performance stages of traditional dance and music, and fun interactive activities for the whole family. Kensington Fall Festival


The city of Kensington is hosting its third annual fall festival this Sunday, October 15. There will be over 75 craft vendors, food trucks, live bands on the Kensington Service Center Stage, a moonbounce, face painting, balloons and more activities for kids. Go out and experience the quaint charm of Old Town Kensington!
