Weekend Events: November 24-26

We have a lot to celebrate this weekend between spending Thanksgiving with loved ones and, of course, Black Friday shopping. This weekend in Montgomery County, we are ending November on a bright note with our traditional celebrations including the annual Winter Lights Festival and the first ever Snow on the Row.

This weekend the City of Gaithersburg kicks off its 22nd Winter Lights Festival. The wondrous display of lights at Seneca Creek State Park will be open nightly from November 24 through December 31. The 3.5 mile drive through the enchanted setting of Seneca Creek State Park takes you past more than 380 illuminated displays and 65 animated vignettes that light up the night. Themed areas include Winter Woods, Teddy Bear Land, Victorian Village, the North Pole, and much more.

Prices: Cars, SUV’s, Mini-Vans Monday – Thursday: $12
Cars, SUV’s, Mini-Vans Friday – Sunday: $15
Limos and 20-Passenger Vans: $20
Mini-buses: $30
Buses (30 seats or more): $70

A Christmas Carol at the Arts Barn

In partnership with Kensington Arts Theatre, Arts on the Green presents a Christmas musical classic, A Christmas Carol. Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. But, thanks to the guidance of three ghosts on Christmas Eve, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful “Happy Christmas” before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.

Snow on the Row

Snow on the Row

Join Bethesda Row for the first annual Snow on the Row. Bethesda Lane will be transformed into a winter wonderland. Guests are invited to bundle up and enjoy an outdoor viewing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, along with hot chocolate, cookie decorating, and s’mores!
