Enjoy Free Outdoor Movies this Summer!

Watching movies on a large screen outdoors has become a popular summer activity. There are several outdoor movie festivals in throughout Montgomery County. Most of the movies are free and offer a great opportunity for families to enjoy some time together under the stars.

MOONLIGHT MOVIES AT THE MANSION

Kick off your weekends with movie night on the front lawn of Kentlands Mansion. Grab your family, friends, lawn chairs, and blankets and enjoy a movie under the stars. Enjoy concessions of light snacks, sweets, drinks, beer, and wine for purchase. Movies start at 7:30pm. Admission is FREE!

Whalen Commons Summer Movie Series

Bring your family and friends. Picnic blankets or chairs are recommended for comfortable viewing under the stars. Admission is free and popcorn is available to purchase! Showtime starts at 8:30 PM

BETHESDA OUTDOOR MOVIES

Spend an enjoyable evening in Woodmont Triangle and have dinner at one of the
neighborhood’s delicious and diverse restaurants before the show! Enjoy five nights of blockbuster hits at downtown Bethesda’s 12th annual outdoor movie series! A limited number of chairs will be provided and attendees are invited to bring their own lawn chairs. Movies start at 9pm. Admission is FREE!

Movies in the Parks

Get outside this summer and get into Rockville’s free outdoor movies in the parks on the big screen, each Wednesday, August 2-23. Bring chairs, blankets, food and beverages and enjoy four different movies at four different neighborhood parks throughout the city.

All movies begin at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.). All movies are free.

Silver Screens On Veterans Plaza

We’re excited to announce the return of the free outdoor film series in Downtown Silver Spring! Silver Screens is presented by AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center and Councilmember Tom Hucker. All screenings will take place on Veteran’s Plaza in Downtown Silver Spring and films will be shown with subtitles on. Screenings begin after sundown, at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Comcast Film Fest

Outdoor movies return to Strathmore this summer! Take a seat on the lawn for three nights of free flicks benefiting the National Institutes of Health Children’s Charities. Blankets, low-rise chairs, and small coolers welcome outside only. No pets, please. n case of inclement weather, outdoor movies are cancelled. Visit www.strathmore.org or follow Strathmore on Facebook and Twitter for up-to-date information. Gates open to public at 7:30pm and the movie will begin at dusk.
