Fiesta Asia & the Indonesian Cultural Festival
Sunday, May 1, 2016 – Downtown Silver Spring
Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with an Asian street fair in just outside of DC. Fiesta Asia Silver Spring brings together the diverse Asian cultures on one street where participants can experience the richness of the arts and tradition the region has to offer. The event is free and open to everyone. From music to dance; from martial arts to crafts; from food to shopping; Fiesta Asia has it all.
The Indonesian Cultural Festival also takes place in Downtown Silver Spring at Veterans Plaza on Sunday, May 1. This event will give you a perfect window to know and understand the rich of Indonesian culture. During the event, we invite you to enjoy Indonesian Embassy Gamelan performing a Javanese folk tale Joko Tarub, traditional dances from Java, Bali and more!
A-RTS at Fine Arts Festival
Saturday, May 7-8, 2016 – Rockville Town Square
Walk the streets of downtown Rockville as it is transformed into a brilliant spring outdoor art gallery highlighting the industry’s best local, regional and national artists. See the industry’s best in glass, ceramics, jewelry, painting, photography, sculpture, woodwork and more. The Fourth Annual A-RTS at Rockville Town Square Fine Art Festival will bring together more than 160 artists who are creating the most exceptional art found in America today.
May 13-15, 2016 – Potomac
Presented by Saint Luke Serbian Orthodox Church of Potomac, MD, SerbFest DC Spring 2016 truly has something for everyone, including traditional Serbian dishes, beverages, dance and music performances, gifts and boutique items and family-friendly activities. Admission and parking are free, an indoor setup has been arranged in case of inclement weather and all a la carte food item proceeds benefit Saint Luke Serbian Orthodox Church .
Montgomery County Spring Fair & Strawberry Festival
May 15-21, 2016 – Burtonsville

Bethesda Fine Arts Festival
May 14-15, 2016 – Woodmont Triangle, Bethesda
The 13th annual Bethesda Fine Arts Festival will welcome more than 120 artists from across the country and Canada to showcase and sell their fine art and craft. The two-day event, on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15, will feature fine art, live music and local restaurants.
Fiesta de las Madres
Sunday, May 15, 2016 – Downtown Silver Spring
Telemundo Washington DC will host the 8th Annual Fiesta de las Madres. With the focus on women and mothers, this outdoor expo makes a difference in the lives of our Washington DC Hispanics by creating an event where they can receive the most pertinent information, access much needed services and enjoy a fun-filled day with their children and families. This one-day event will feature fashion shows, makeovers, exercise clinics, food samplings, employment opportunities, motivational speakers, entertainment, Telemundo Stars, the opportunity to win a CAR and more!
TASTE THE WORLD IN FENTON VILLAGE
Sunday, May 15, 2016 – Silver Spring
Thousands of DC and Maryland foodies will descend upon Silver Spring for the 6th Annual Taste The World in Fenton Village. The free event draws food lovers throughout the area with the promise of food samples at 35 different restaurants representing international food from every continent, except Australia and Antarctica.
Gaithersburg Book Festival
May 21, 2016 – Gaithersburg
The annual book festival features 100 best-selling and award-winning authors who will participate in panel discussions and book signings throughout the day. Other activities include interactive writing workshops, a Children’s Village, musical entertainment and more.
Hometown Holidays Music Festival
Saturday, May 28-30, 2016 – Rockville Town Square
The event features more than 30 free live performances from local, regional and national acts. Hometown Holidays is also home to the Taste of Rockville featuring bites from local Rockville Restaurants. Families can enjoy kids amusements and entertainment, and enjoy some fun in the sun on the Rockville Beach.
Wings of Fancy
Brookside Gardens is happy to announce the return of its premier Wings of Fancy Live Butterfly and Caterpillar Exhibit. The seasonal display features hundreds of live butterflies from all over the world. Families, students, nature lovers, and everyone in between can get an up close experience of these brilliant butterflies from North America, Costa Rica, Africa and Asia as they soar among colorful flowers.
