1. Bethesda Fine Arts Festival

When: May 9-10, 2015 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle

The festival will once again welcome artists from across the country and Canada to showcase and sell their original painting, drawing, photography, furniture, jewelry, woodwork, ceramics and more in downtown Bethesda.

2. 5th Annual Montgomery County Strawberry Festival

When: May 16, 2015 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: White Oak Middle School

Kick off summer with strawberries and family fun. Enjoy carnival rides, live music, food trucks, pony rids, moon bounces, farmers, orchards, crafts and gifts.

3. Strut Your Mutt

When: May 16, 2015 @ 10:30 am – 3:00 pm

The 9th annual Strut Your Mutt Dog Parade and Festival will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in downtown Bethesda, MD. Organized and sponsored by the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rotary Club, past years have brought together over 5,000 participants and hundreds of dogs for a day of fun.

4. SpringFest!

When: May 16, 2015 @ 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm

The Town of Poolesville will host its 5th Annual “SpringFest” celebration. With activities for the whole family, including musical performances, food and artisan vendors, and a beer and wine tasting tent. As an added feature this year, Pub Dog Brewery of Westminster, and Milkhouse Brewery of Mount Airy will be sharing samples and information on their products.

5. Gaithersburg Book Festival

When: May 16, 2015 @ 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm

The Gaithersburg Book Festival is an annual celebration of great books and great writing that has made its mark as one of the nation’s top literary events. The festival will feature more than 100 best-selling and award-winning authors who will participate in panel discussions and book signings throughout the day.

6. Hometown Holidays Music Festival

When: May 23-25, 2015 @ 2:00 pm – 1:00 am
Where: Rockville Town Center

Join the City of Rockville at the Hometown Holidays Music Festival. The event features more 30 free live performances from local, regional and national acts. Hometown Holidays is home to the Taste of Rockville featuring bites from local Rockville Restaurants. Families can enjoy kids amusements and entertainment, and enjoy some fun in the sun on the Rockville Beach.

7. City of Rockville Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade

When: May 25, 2015 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Where: Rockville Town Square – Rockville Town Square Plaza, 200 East Middle Lane, Rockville, MD 20850

Join the City of Rockville at the 71st Annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade. The Ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. with music by the Rockville Concert Band and Chorus. At 9:30 a.m. the presentation of the colors, traditional wreath laying ceremony, 21-gun salute and a statement from this year’s Grand Marshal will take place.

8. The Front Row

Bethesda’a annual three-day fashion event, The Front Row, has made a name for itself as a celebrity sighting opportunity—Jessica Alba, Kelly Cutrone, Christian Siriano, and Maria Menounos have all made appearances—and this year is no exception. The celebration will kick off with a showing of the Dior and I fashion documentary on Thursday, May 28, at 7:30 PM at Landmark Theatre.

9. Washington Folk Festival

When: May 30-31, 2015 @ 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm

The Washington Folk Festival is back for its 35th year at Glen Echo Park. This FREE festival celebrates the many folk music, dance and craft traditions that are part of the greater Washington area.  Five stages simultaneously present music and dance for a total of nearly 70 hours of live performance. The festival also includes a storytelling stage, dance workshops in the Spanish Ballroom, a craft marketplace in the Bumper Car Pavilion, and many spontaneous picking sessions in the Park’s picnic grove.

The Centro Español de Washington D.C. is bringing a taste of FERIA right here to the Washington D.C. area. So come join us for this free flamenco festival where you will feel like you’re at the fairgrounds of Seville… listening to the live flamenco beats & watching the intricate foot and arm work of these passionate flamenco dancers while tasting a variety of Spanish tapas.
