FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS AT THE WASHINGTON, D.C. TEMPLE

The Festival of Lights is one of the D.C. area’s great community traditions. Beginning December 1st, the Festival features free performances nightly in the comfortable, state-of-the-art theater located in the Visitors’ Center. This impressive church and its surrounding grounds shine brightly with more than 650,000 sparkling Christmas lights. A different performing artist or group is showcased each night, including bell ensembles, choirs, orchestras, and more! Each performance is presented twice nightly and it’s all FREE!

COUNTRYSIDE ARTISAN HOLIDAY GALLERY AND STUDIO TOUR

Find original fine art and craft and a breath of fresh air as the Countryside Artisans open their studio doors to you. At the Holiday Gallery and Studio Tour you can meet the artists and enjoy their work at their very own studios! Choose from 13 galleries and studios representing 40+ fine visual, sculptural, and textile artists as you wind your way through scenic Montgomery county. This is a free, self-guided, driving tour.
The Countryside Artisans of Maryland represents a selected group of accomplished visual, sculptural, and textile artists working in oil, pastel, watercolor, pencil, ceramics, porcelain, glass, stone, wood, yarn, textiles, and photography. Spend a day in the country and come home with a renewed

WINTER SKATE PARTIES NIGHT

JINGLE JUBILEE & TREE LIGHTING

Welcome the holidays with a traditional tree lighting ceremony, holiday music and a special visit from Santa at Gaithersburg’s Jingle Jubilee. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the tree lighting ceremony. This joyous event, perfect for families with young children, features performances by Impact Dance Studio, Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church Canterbury Ringers, Gaithersburg High School Band, Pritchard Music Honors Brass Quintet, and Victor Litz Music. Costumed characters, festive giveaways and a magnificent tree lighting ceremony create a delightful holiday mood. Be sure to bring your camera to capture memorable holiday photos in our fun photo booth that includes props, and with Santa, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
