Classic summer fun: Montgomery County’s family-friendly events

Montgomery County, Maryland holds numerous festivals all year long. The following spring and summer events are county classics:


The Hometown Holidays is Rockville’s premier event and one of the DC areas best music festivals. This year’s event features five stage of music with more than 30 FREE live performances, the Taste of Rockville and kids’ activities and entertainment. Date: May 24 – 26 (Memorial Day Weekend)


Imagination Bethesda is a children’s street festival celebrating children and the arts, including musical performances, dance troupes, roving entertainment and hands-on art & craft activities. The free event in downtown Bethesda features face painters, costume characters, balloonists, jugglers and more. Local businesses and educational organizations will host a variety of activities to entertain and energize the 12-and-under crowd. Date: June 7, 2014


Each year, on the last weekend of June, Heritage Montgomery hosts its free signature event – the annual Heritage Days Celebration. It’s fun for the whole family, come out and enjoy love music, craft demonstrations, children activities, outdoor fun, historical reenactments and exhibits and so much more! Date: June 28-29, 2014


Since 1949 the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, the largest county fair in the State of Maryland, has been a showcase of farm life in Montgomery County. This week-long county fair is a family event with carnival rides, live animals, a variety of entertainment, food and fun activities for all ages. Date: August 8-16, 2014

    These are really wonderful events to enjoy the summer season. I really like your blog and appreciate you for this great effort. At this time, I am going to ski resorts in scotland trip with my childhood friends. After seeing these events, I will try to attend all of them this upcoming summer season.
