Ag Reserve & Beyond
Reserve Country
Ripe for Adventure
Reserve Country is where weekends unfold at an easier pace. We invite you to slow down and take part. Pick your own at a working farm, enjoy cow-to-cone ice cream, wander historic sites, or talk with a park ranger. Spend the day hiking or cycling scenic trails, tackling a ropes course, or exploring along the C&O Canal before pausing to take it all in. As the day winds down, toast the moment with a craft beer, local wine, cider, or spirits made right here. Every experience is rooted in the land, shaped by the people who care for it, and best enjoyed at an unhurried pace, leaving you more connected than when you arrived.

Make it a Reserve Country Kind of Weekend
Kick things off with a hike up Sugarloaf Mountain, a boat ride at Black Hill Regional Park, a round of golf at The Crossvines, a treetop adventure ziplining at The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring, or even learn to ride a horse at Calleva Farm. Learn stories of plantation life at Button Farm Living History Museum or the history of farming at the Ag History Farm Park. Wander through the sunflowers at McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area, go apple picking at Butler’s Orchard, or just follow the signs until something catches your eye.
Pop into Clarksburg Premium Outlets if shopping is on the list, then head out along the Tastemakers Trail to check out local breweries, wineries, distilleries, and a cidery. Grab a farm-to-table meal at Locals Farm Market, followed by a visit to local studios during the Countryside Artisans’ seasonal tours. Make it an overnight by spending the night in a yurt at Little Bennett Campground, then wrap things up with ice cream made right on the farm at Deere Valley Farm. It’s the kind of weekend where you don’t need a plan, just a little curiosity and some extra time.
